Karan Johar Celebrates Birthday

 46th birthday on the rooftop of a New York building 

Karan Johar’s 45th birthday party also saw the action move on to his apartment’s glamorous terrace designed by interior designer Gauri Khan, who credited the filmmaker as the inspiration for the design of the terrace as well as the nursery of his twin kids, Yash and Roohi.

It might come as a surprise, but KJo flew to New York a few days before his 46th birthday and ended up throwing a party on the rooftop of a residential building there. None of his Bollywood Bestie Brigade were seen in the party, but KJo sure seems to have had an amazing time cruising through the streets of New York, decked out in designer wear by his friend Masaba Gupta. In an interview with DNA, KJo is quoted as saying, “My gift to myself on my 46th birthday today is this long-haul flight to NY. When I’m there, I’m going to indulge in my three favourite ‘R’s — rest, relaxation and retail. I just want some me time and what better way than to do what I’m doing.”

Karan Johar also has another reason to celebrate. Raazi, the Meghna Gulzar-directed film starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal and produced by Dharma Productions and Junglee Pictures, has raked in INR 88+ crores at the box office in the second week of its screening. The director has confirmed that once he returns from this birthday getaway, it will be work as usual and he will begin casting for his new film, and is also gearing up for the release of Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter-starrer Dhadak, which is a Hindi remake of hit Marathi film Sairat.
